National Botanic Gardens (Glasnevin)

I have to agree this time with the popular quote "Best things in life are free", because the National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin are at the top of my list of best free attractions in Dublin (actually they are also at the top of my list of best Dublin attractions in general!)

Le Petit Breton (Dublin 9) - good crêperie!

What can I say: we love crêpes!

They are a fantastic meal - you can prepare them with everything: savoury for lunch, sweet for dessert or for an afternoon snack (one of my kids would kill for a warm nutella crêpe), they fill you up, but do not make you feel heavy after eating them and can be eaten at home / in a restaurant  or on the go... perfect for all tastes and demands!

Well now there is a new place in Dublin where you can enjoy perfect crêpes the French way: Le Petit Breton in Drumcondra (1A Drumcondra Road Lower).

Celebrating Father's Day in Andersons Creperie

It was Father`s Day last Sunday. The weather was horrible in the morning and we didn't feel like visiting any park or playground and get all wet and muddy, but we still wanted to do something special to celebrate such a special day...

Where do Dubliners...buy fish? Taste of the Sea in D9

Since we arrived in Ireland, I've been looking for stores in Dublin where to buy good fish (fresh or frozen, but good).

So until last week we used to go to Howth every now and then and buy fish in Wrights of Howth (top quality fresh fish!). Last week we've found another great place: TASTE OF THE SEA in Glasnevin, right opposite the cementery entrance.

The place looks fantastic. Incredibly clean and organized; the staff is very friendly and prices are very reasonable. They sell mostly frozen fish, but you can also find a great variety of sauces and some conserves. I bought shrimps, monkfish and tuna - great taste! I cooked the monkfish following a recipe that I was given in the store (you can take home lots of recipes of how to cook the fish you buy there, isn't it a great idea?).

If your driving there, do not worry about parking: the store is located right beside LIDL and they share LIDL's car park (free, of course).

I hope you have the chance to visit Taste of the Sea and send your comments!
